Cabin Max offer a range of cabin bags which are specifically designed to fit within the hand luggage allowance of most of the major airlines. This review is of the popular Cabin Max Backpack, a bestselling piece of hand luggage on Amazon.co.uk and highly rated. I personally bought this case and have flown with it as my hand luggage and despite some minor flaws would generally recommend it to most flyers looking to take less luggage and travel smarter.
The Cabin Max bag is very lightweight which is a major benefit meaning it is lighter on your back (the only way to carry it) and an essential feature for travelling. The bag is also flexible, expanding to allow you to fit more in. The downside of this is it may expand over an airline`s limit though this can be solved relatively easily and it is of a slightly lesser quality than some more expensive bags on the market. Having said that for the lowly price it is a real bargain and I am sure it will last many trips. I have personally used one of these a couple of times and found it rather good and feel it would meet most people`s needs and save them money on baggage fees.
Cabin Max Suitable Airlines
It is suitable with a large number of airlines cabin bag allowance including Ryanair, easyJet (though larger than their theoretical cabin bag guarantee), BA and nearly any other airline – check here. This is excellent and reassuring and the makers even provide a guarantee that:
Cabin Max Guarantee
“This is flight approved luggage and will fit into any airlines overhead locker or luggage gauge IATA dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20 or smaller, please see our picture of the Cabin Max in a luggage bin.
We are so confident that we offer a 100% moneyback guarantee you will never have an issue with taking this bag onto a plane.”
Not bad, eh?
Cabin Max Review Conclusion
Overall, it is a good product and is well worth the small outlay as you will most likely save more than the alternative costs for checked baggage for one return trip. Spending around £25-£30 is very worthwhile if it is going to save you around £20-£25! Just don`t expect to use it fifty times without any signs of damage – the low cost means you can always buy a new one and still save money compared to the often extortionate baggage fees.
See this bag as an investment and it is a very useful and inexpensive tool for hand luggage only travel.
+ Fits most airlines hand luggage policies – see here for the airline hand luggage limits.
+Rated 4.5 stars on Amazon
+ Cabin Bag Guarantee
– Lack of durability for long term use
Overall, I would definitely recommend this cabin bag which is guaranteed to be 55cm x 40cm x 20cm which is critical in choosing a carry on bag and means this bag is suitable for airlines like Ryanair, easyJet, BA and more, is lightweight and inexpensive. The durability leaves a little to be desired but it comes with the very good price, the light weight of the bag at just over 600 grams, the right cabin bag size and there is a guarantee too. It should be fine for the normal traveller but it does have flaws.
I would summarise the Cabin Max Bag like the Ronseal ad – “it does exactly what it says on the tin”
Rated 4 stars/5 Very Good.
